Meeting room and lobby media walls: choosing the pitch

As of 2026.09 · Reviewed by the LO-GIN IT installation team

미디어 월

Unlike outdoor screens, meeting room and lobby media walls are viewed up close, for long periods, often with text. A single step in pitch is immediately visible, and so is the cost difference. Based on our indoor lineup (P1.25 / P1.53 / P1.86 / P2), here's what suits which space.

In short: P1.25–P1.5 for executive meeting rooms and control rooms, P1.5–P1.86 for lobbies and showrooms, and P2 for auditoriums and event venues.

1. Start by measuring the distance

The reference is the distance between the screen and the closest viewer.

Minimum viewing distance (m) ≈ pitch (mm) applies indoors as well. If the end of the meeting table is 2.4m from the screen, you need P1.5–P1.86; at 1.5m, P1.25. Pass-by spaces like lobbies are based on 3–4m, so P1.5–P1.86. Auditorium stage screens have front rows 4m or more away, so P2 is enough.

2. Screen size and resolution

It depends on whether you'll show 4K documents or just video.

If viewers need to read small text such as spreadsheets, drawings or split CCTV feeds, use P1.25–P1.5 for a 4m-wide screen (2,600+ horizontal pixels). For mostly video and images, P1.86–P2 is enough. To show 4K content pixel for pixel, P1.5 on a 6m-wide screen is the benchmark.

3. Lower screen brightness in meeting rooms; account for windows in lobbies

Indoor 800–1,200 nit modules are fine, but the brightness you actually use differs.

In meeting rooms, dim to around 300–500 nit under the lighting for comfortable viewing. In lobbies with large windows, raise it to 800 nit or more during the day. If direct sunlight hits the window area, indoor modules aren't enough, so we look at semi-outdoor specs (2,500 nit or more). Running at lower brightness also extends lifespan.

4. Easily overlooked in meeting room media walls

Beyond pitch, these four determine satisfaction.

  • Aspect ratio: to show a laptop screen (16:9) as is, match 16:9 in module multiples (e.g., 3.84m × 2.16m)
  • Inputs · switching: multiple HDMI sources, wireless mirroring, video conferencing camera position (top center of the screen)
  • Heat · noise: fan noise is distracting in meeting rooms, so use fanless or low-noise cabinets with ventilation space at the back
  • Maintenance access: for flush wall recesses, front-service modules are a must

② Selection checklist

Decide in this order.

  • Closest viewing distance (m) → maximum pitch
  • Content to display (documents, CCTV, video) and screen width → check resolution
  • Window and lighting conditions → brightness spec
  • Laptop and video conferencing connections → input setup
  • Wall recess or not → front-service modules and ventilation
